Together with your Zambian guide and a cook, you will explore Zambia's lesser-known wildlife reserves on this comfortable tented safari. The exceptional route, traveled in our 4x4 safari vehicle, and overnight stays in dome tents (camp bed, bedding, and washing facilities included; please bring a lightweight sleeping bag from May to August) in simple, idyllic nature and community camps give this trip its unique character.

You will traverse the entire Luangwa Valley from the south, through the Nsefu sector and Luambe, to North Luangwa National Park. Overnight stays will be in various camps directly on the riverbanks. Here, in this wilderness rarely visited by tourists, the animal density is the highest in all of Africa. On day and night game drives, as well as walking safaris, you will spot herds of buffalo, hippos, elephants, giraffes, impalas, waterbucks, big cats, and much more. The Mutinondo Wilderness area is a paradise for botanists and birdwatchers, as well as for active travelers: crystal-clear rivers invite you to swim, and the magnificent mountain scenery, with its highest peak, Mayense, beckons you to take extended hikes and walks. "Where the water meets the sky" is the translation of the Bangweulu Wetlands. In this wetland area, nestled between papyrus reefs and dry islands, you will search for the shoebill stork and the endemic lechwe on foot and/or by boat. The trip concludes with a visit to Kasanka National Park. Here, you can, among other things, look for the very rare sitatunga antelope from the "Fibwe Hide" tree hide. Furthermore, from mid-October onwards, you can witness the sensational invasion of millions of palm fruit bats.
