- Tour character
There are 36 national parks and protectorates in the largest conservation area in the world, the Kavango-Zambezi (KAZA) Transfrontier Conservation Area. The aim is the sustainable development in tourism as well as conserving the biodiversity of the participating countries: Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe.
After a visit to fabulous Victoria Falls, you will reach the border region of Botswana / Namibia. Whether you’re in a jeep or on foot – enjoy game sightings in Chobe National Park with experienced rangers. An absolute highlight is a boat trip on Chobe River. The spectacular sight of herds of elephants quenching their thirst and swimming in the river is in a class of its own. You will spend 4 nights in former Caprivi National Parks - on the edge of the Nkasa Rupara National Park in luxury tented camps at Linyanti river and on the banks of the Kwando River. With a little luck you will be able to watch the roaming elephants directly from the terrace. The wetlands around the tributaries of Kwando and Linyanti are bursting with pristine beauty. The nearby Mudumu National Park, rich in game, and Bwabwata National Park are considered a unique jewel in Namibia’s crown due to their secluded location.
Our next camp is situated along the banks of a lagoon on the north-western side of the Okavango Delta - truly a fisherman's paradise and bird watchers' haven. In traditional dugout canoe (mokoro) you will be poled through the tranquil channels. On one of the larger islands you will have a guided walk. There is always a chance of seeing large herds of red lechwe bounding through the water and passing elephants feeding amongst the lush wetland vegetation.
The bird sanctuary is located at the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans and provides shelter for more than 150 bird species. Particularly during the rainy season, you have the best opportunities to observe animals and birds in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans on an extensive game drive. Hwange boasts a tremendous selection of wildlife with over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 bird species recorded and is one of Africa’s top National Parks. The elephants are world famous and the Park’s population is one of the largest in the world.
